Does anyone know of a lactatiom consultant in Lakewood area that specializes in identifying tongue ties? My baby is 9 months old, and although he nurses fine (we had a very hard time as a newborn), we have been struggling with solid foods for months now. From research online everything points to a tongue tie.

Chaya Lighten in Highland Park is amazing with ties. Two of my kids were tied and other lactation consultants missed it cuz it Was small posterior tie. I'm so happy someone told me about Chaya and babies did so well after we lasered their ties. I highly recommend her.

back in january I paid 250$ for a session... 5towns
waste of money and time

they range from 150$-300$ in my area
I dont know anyone cheap

whats your issue with nursing? maybe some experienced mothers can chime in

thanks. Not gaining enough weight. still hurts when I nurse though when I pump takes a bottle fine
I've nursed a bunch of kids before this one without any issues...

Are you on wic? Debbie in the lakewood office is experienced and has helped me with lip and toungue tie, poor latch. You pediatrician should also be able to look for a tie.

If you are on Jersey Care, you are eligible for wic. It may be worthwhile to look into how quickly they can get you on as everything is being done over the phone and very convenient.

Many hospitals have lactation consultant practices. I received such a referral after the birth of my preemie.

I love and trust Chani Gelbwachs. It may be worth a phone call to hear if she can help you. She would be honest over the phone.

I was referred by a lactation consultant to a dentist to check the degree of the tie and if it needed intervention.

If your child is delayed in speech, you can contact early intervention and once found eligible, ask the agency for someone who has a background in feeding as well.

Did the pediatrician have a referral?

I hope something here can help out, as I have dealt with this issue in the past.

There's a Dr. Cynthia Barabas in Wall 732-280-3334. She's a pediatrician and a nursing mother & will give you hours to watch the baby feed etc. She does charge a lot though but may be covered by insurance. Call & find out!
