I just bought puff pastry dough. It came already defrosted because the delivery took awhile. I just took it out of the plastic and it has a very strong soury smell. I assume that means it's bad? Right? I shouldn't use it...

Puff pastry many times has vinegar as an ingredient, and it can smell like it a bit in my experience….but I never found it to be such a strong smell though….could that be what you’re smelling?

It was very strong. I smelled it across the room before I realized what it was and was so confused till I got closer to the dough. I thought maybe it was expired but couldn't find anything on the package. Threw it out already...
