My brother broke his femur years ago (I think he was around 18 mo) he was in a body cast up to his waist for 6 weeks. Bh he’s been fine ever since. he did need PT for a little while after).
Just beware of skin issues. He literally got burns from the cast.
He wore onesies and lounged on a long pool chair
