The ami had a few stories that literally ended in the middle.
Agree about the ad situation. They need to scale back big time .

The ami or the Binah? I noticed that in the Binah.
In general Calligraphy by Mishpacha usually has the best stories. I haven’t read it yet, saving it for second days.

The Ami stories seemed to be going for the ambiguous endings, not that they literally ended in the middle.

Agree.
There are famous classic stories in literature where it works, but that's the exception to the rule, I think. Most stories should be wrapped up with some kind of resolution, not necessarily a happy one, but some kind of ending.

Yeah, these ads are getting way out of hand. There are more ads than content. If I have to search for the content within pages and pages of ads, it loses its appeal. I usually read them in bed or lying on the couch, and having to turn page after page doesnt work well in that relaxed mode.

Magazines aren't meant to compete with circulars, but thats what they look like nowadays. Does anyone even bother going thru the 100+ pages of ads?

Yes I thought so too. Lily was a punch in the gut especially for anyone with a special needs sibling.

Lily was great. I just didn’t like the ending, it seemed so trite to have a happy shidduch related ending. It didn’t do justice to the rest of the story. She should have given the little boy the doll and find closure from seeing a boy like that well taken care of and that’s the ending.

The Ami starts at page 78.

The Ami was weak but they had one fantastic story: the one about the Dangerous Neighbors Next Door.

I'm still working through Mishpacha; I agree they are the best of all.

Also reading Hamodia which is pretty good too.
