What color shoes with brown or gray tights?

I like the suggestions of brown or gray opaque tights in place of black. And I guess gray can be work with black flats? But does brown have to be with brown shoes? Do maroon/burgundy suede flats work with either color?

I would wear black shoes with brown tights too (brown shoes would look nice as well with brown tights).

I would possibly wear maroon/ burgundy shoes with gray if the shades didn't clash (more of a warm gray).
