I am the OP of the other thread. Yesterday, she was totally fine.

Today she has tonz more pocks and is miserably itching. Sad
What can I put on to alleviate the itching, and also to help with scarring cuz they're all over her face.

When I had it my parents used calamine lotion, which I remember as being quite effective.

People also use oatmeal baths, but they are a nuisance to clean up.

This site might help you.

Oatmeal baths. I did 2 daily. It's not a pain to clean up at all.
Vitamin e oil get the biggest strength and put on each spot. Now that's a pain bc it gets sticky

1) NO TYLENOL !!!

2) warm, oatmeal baths several times a day

3) keep the body temp cooler - warmer will cause the pox to itch more for most kids

4) take Vit D, Vit A, & Vit C supplements

5) pure lavender essential oil can help with itchiness

6) lots of water!! Flush out the virus like any other normal virus (because this IS just a normal virus, so treat it as such)

7) lots of rest- restful activities. Let them chill out & do their favorite quiet time activities

My little one has it right now too! I see a holistic pediatrician who gave me a big list of supplements-
Rhus Tox 3tab 3x day
Vit C 500mg 3x day
Vit D (Carson’s) 2 drops 2x day
VX immune support
And benadryl at night to help sleep.
Along with 3 oatmeal baths a day with 2 drops lavender
Cold witch hazel wipe downs
And calendula cream

My DD had the chicken pox at age 11 months. The vax is given at 12 months, so she did not get it.

I remember getting Aveeno oatmeal packets and bathing her in it.

It's easy to do an oatmeal bath if you put the oatmeal in the toe of an old pair of stockings, and then tie a knot just above it. Cut above the knot, and there you go, kind of like a big tea bag.

Tie another knot in the bottom of the stocking, fill with oatmeal, and then tie another knot. Keep going, like you're making sausages.

When in the bath, use the oatmeal sock to rub all over the body, squeeze out the liquid, etc. Throw it away after each bath, do no reuse!

If you live in tristate area, local health food stores will have Herbari Anti-herpes anti-chickenpox. It stops the pox in their tracks within 24 hours dd wasn't getting any new pox and the old ones dried out. It was still a miserable two days but with my other ones twas worse.

In the Uk kids aren’t vaccinated against it and almost all kids get it.
Calamine lotion, oats in a sock in the bath. Paracetamol is ok but not ibruprofen. (Sorry I don’t know how that translates in the US). Good luck!

I got from health food stop liquid chlorophyll. Apply with cotton balls helps to dry out the pox fast and eased the itching but beware it stains EVERYTHING it touched pretty much permanently
