Ok. It seems in my moments of self-pity I noticed a lot of threads today on losing weight. Maybe they are always there or I just had my eye out for them. I know a lot of us feel the guilt after chag. Let's help eachother with some ideas of awesome specific daily menus/food planning instead of saying things like.... avoid processed food.

K. I'll bite. Pun intended.
I eat more healthily when I have healthful options easily available.
So I'm going to try to make at lest one batch of veggie/lentil soup.
Going to try to have baby carrots, baby cucumbers in my fridge for mindless chewing.
Going to try to limit carbs (not eat bowls and bowls of pasta..),
Make sure I drink lots of water, so have water bottles easily accessible! I like disposable.
Maybe splurge and buy prechecked -type lettuce for salads.
Need to figure out proteins. don't like eggs or fish. I'm okay with chicken and turkey.
So here's a M-Th sample eating day of my dreams:
Cereal and milk. No more than two bowls.
Fruit/veg as a snack
Lentil veggie soup for lunch
Snack of fruit/veg
Supper with protein (chicken?turkey?), Carb (maybe should be a carb like butternut squash, which is more nutritious than rice or orzo), and veg like stringbeans
Need to munch later? Cucumbers? Maybe with dressing.
I need to lose weight. Need to stay around 1200 calories per day.
Use myfitnesspal. Want to get back into it.
Gained 5 lbs over YT

Yes! Actually found out any of on ima.
It absolutely tracks calories.
It's free.
Try it!
Input height, weight, goal... (Goal e.g. Maintain weight, gain, life-threatening at a rate of 1/2 or 1 or 2 lbs per week)
It tells you how m any calories you need to do that.
Input food, it deducts from those calories
Input exercise, it adds calories back in.

Reviving thread. Happy for others to post, too.
Got my YT weight off BH.
Still working toward my goal.
Been tracking my food more religiously on myfitnesspal, and made myself healthier carbs like butternut squash and spaghetti squash, which I enjoy. I also ate salad. (Lettuce is so low in calories! That must be the expensive or time-consuming diet food, depending on how you have it checked!)
I realize (thanks to myfitnesspal) that I got in very little protein. I don't like eggs or fish that much, and don't eat too much milchig...)
Any suggestions?
A few meatballs at night isn't enough protein...

Breakfast - 1 fruit and plain yogurt and a handful of nuts (no prep necessary)
Lunch - salad or soup or leftovers from the night before .
Dinner - Always have protein, starch, cooked hot vegetable and sliced vegetables.
Generally chicken or turkey, sometimes fish. can be as simple as sticking a whole chicken into the oven with spices.
carb side dish - I try to skip eating this, but I might take a small portion. I make it for the rest of the family.
cooked vegetable - very often I'll just put frozen in the oven with olive oil and spices. Sometimes I'll make a ratatouille or stir fry or grilled
cut up vegetables - just sliced on a center plate. I vary the vegetables so it doesn't get boring-

Best best weight loss tip ever.
Chew each bite of food a lot, like 10 chews.
Helps with digestion too, because food is broken up before it enters digestive tract.
And eventually you need to go about your day, and don’t have time to eat more than necessary.
This is from red book on Rambams diet

You don’t like eggs made any way? Hard boiled, egg salad, omelet, with sautéed veggies and/or cheese and/or tomato sauce? What if you made a kugel/quiche that is vegetables, optional cheese and eggs to hold it together?
You don’t like ANY fish? Tuna patties, tuna quiche? Salmon? Flounder?
Good job on the work you’ve done so far and good luck for the future!
