I don't come to NY often, but when I do, I generally walk around in the Ave J / Coney area. I like the variety of shopping, restaurants, etc., but after may years I am getting bored. Can you please suggest another area that is similar, either in Flatbush, BP, Queens, anywhere really.....I like more closeout-type stores (clothing and otherwise), basic food choices (shwarma/pizza, etc)...anything else interesting....Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

There is no closeout shopping or basic food there.... it's fancy, overpriced and upscale

It's not as exciting as the others, but you'll find anything you need (including Amazing Savings!)

Another vote for Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills. It's not as big or busy as Brooklyn but it's lovely, has excellent food, there's an Amazing Savings, other stores I guess sales are hit or miss but anyway there are stores. I can usually find everything I need within a much smaller walking range than Brooklyn, and did I mention the food is great?

That would work too - what part of kings highway do you think has the best shopping?

Kings highway is cool!
I would go between like Ocean Avenue and Coney- that's where most of the stores are. Some really cool ones.
Food though idk... There used to be pizza and sushi, also a 7-11 but the last time I was there was a few years back.

Food is more in the low numbers like Sunflower cafe.
Edit: just googled. Sunflower is on Quentin and e. 12. Worth walking over. They have such good food.

No food, but I went to Gateway Center and loved it. Tried to post a link, but it didn’t work.
