Calling all good cooks:
I'd like to make a crocpot supper with chicken and cubed butternut squash.
I'm out all day, so I'd like to follow the recommendations on other crocpot chicken recipes that I've made before, of cooking on low for 8 hours.

Any ideas for what to add? What seasonings would go well with this? Would I need extra liquid? (I don't want to use any prepared sauces, like duck sauce etc. Just homemade ingredients please)

Thanks in advance!

Toss the butternut squash on the bottom of the crock with oil and season well.

Then season the chicken top and bottom, under skin, super generously (the crockpot needs it) - salt, garlic, onion. Lay chicken in one overlapping layer over the squash. Dust the top of the chicken pieces with paprika until they have good color.

No liquids. That's it.

It will collect its own juices and the butternut squash will be sitting in a tasty gravy when done.
