I have been doing the curly girl method we tried the brand Contu shea mentioned above, but it had a very strong smell is there anything that is not too expensive that doesn’t have such a strong smell? Also, we need to brush it into a pony in the morning and so the front gets very frizzy is there anything that I could put on to smooth it out
The bottom of her hair stays in really pretty curls from the leave in conditioner from Johnson’s which is curly girl friendly.
But the pan teen that we use I don’t believe is
We are shampooing once a week and using conditioner the rest of the time |
You can try Shea moisture. They have a ton of different lines with different smells and varieties.
It’s budget friendly, sold in any target, Walmart, CVS, etc.
You should never brush dry curly hair. If it needs to go into a pony, use your hands to lightly get the curly into place into a pony. Do not use a brush.
Pantene is not CG friendly. Stop using it immediately. Try a Shea moisture one, and you can use their creams as well.
The method won’t work if you even use ONE item that’s not approved. The bad chemicals and ingredients will stay in her hair, even after being washed out, and create frizz.

Do you use a brush on it? Do you put it into a bun at the top of her head?

What do you recommend for oily straight/little wavy frizzy hair?

Everything I’ve already said. Your hair is oily because standard shampoos strip your hair of all its oils, making your body say ‘oh no! Were out of oil. Guess we gotta make more, and this time make extra’.
Your skin, nails, hair, all of it needs to have some degree of oil on it. If you constantly strip it of oils, your hair begins to overproduce oil, which is why you begin to think ‘shoot my hair is oily, I need to shower even MORE often’. Hence a vicious cycle that just doesn’t help your hair.
I know 2 people with straight frizzy hair who started doing the curly girl method. Both of them have no frizz. One has slightly wavy hair now, and one believe it or not has curls now.
My curls got way stronger and better after doing this.
