I have not been to a wedding since the beginning of the pandemic.
A good friend is marrying off her kid. What is currently considered a proper money gift: $150? $180? more? DH and I were invited for the entire event, but we are only coming in for a few minutes to say Mazel tov (and of course notified the Baalei simacha of our intentions). If it makes a difference, we live in NY.

I think you are very generous!
My moms friends gave way less. They actually bought a small piece of silver together so I would guess each one spent between $35 and $50. Perhaps we have large families, that's why?

In my circles, if you're not eating, a gift is not expected. Definitely not more than $36, if you want to give a token gift of good wishes.

If you’re very close friends $150-180 sounds good to me.
We’ve gotten big checks from our parents friends when we got married.
