She suffered a bad fall which led to a cracked skull I believe, she needed major head surgery at the time to just save her life. The doctors didn’t think she would live. Happened when she was 6. Brain injury symptoms can come out years later.

I’m not sure about the therapies she’s doing now. I do know she is married with 2 children now and has a good job. She’s worked really hard to get to the place she’s in.

The brain is so complicated and an unexplored frontier. I am so sorry to hear about your sisters injury. Yes many football players boxers etc are examples of how brain injuries can cause symptoms over time or years later. The question is...is an actual blunt force TBI the same as an attack by antibodies in the brain. Bh with the attack by the antibodies inflammation can (but is not always reversible). Would these treatments work on a blunt force attack? Could your sister symptoms be caused by a previous assault to the blood brain barrier being compounded by an inflammatory response that might respond to these treatments? The prospects really makes you wonder. The trick is finding a dr who wonders with you.

Theres a ton of research showing that neuroinflammation is behind a lot of the sustained symptom of tbi. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/p.....4172/

To All those that don't believe strep can cause a sudden onset of autoimmune disease.. What's your thoughts about covid. A silly little virus that (killed people) but on a small level-took peoples smells and tastes away. Mah hakesher? Virus? Smell and taste. I think it's mind blowing! So yes.. I believe strep can do anything to the brain. And I think it's rampant - the same way covid got around - strep can get around. It's absolutely a possibility that so many children have pandas - or inflammation of the brain. And on simple level proof just look what covid did. It literally turned the world upside down.
I still can't smell and taste properly over a year later and I was perfectly healthy just before catching this little virus. And I can assure you there are so many people that have random things pop up after getting infected. So keep that in mind before saying your non beliefs..

Undiagnosed and untreated strep infections in a child can either go away or travel through the body. My child was diagnosed a couple of years ago with pandas. The child was treated for it at the time and the treatment worked. I took another blood test to see if her numbers went down and we the blood work showed that the child also had mycoplasma pneumoniae. Recently, the child started exhibiting similar behaviors worse than before. Blood work should that the strep levels weren't too back but the mycoplasma levels were high again. Bh, the behaviour after antibiotics is so much better. This child will never tell me if she has a sore throat because of the fear of taking a culture. As soon as we see any mood swings, we test her and treat accordingly.
