Idk how this is possible and who to ask irl.
One of my kids tested negative and we all have it. I can’t make sense of it. We are all together all the time (meals, shared restrooms etc)
Anyone else have this experience with Delta?
Should I test her again in a few days? She feels totally well

I know lots of families where some members got it and others not.
We all went down like dominoes, but it doesn't always happen that way.
Just because you are exposed - and even exposed quite a lot - doesn't necessitate that you will become ill.

The absolute only rules of covid is:
1:Anything is possible

She could be the one who brought it into the house or she may not be infected yet. She may have had it previously. She may just not get it.
People write the rules of covid. There is nothing unusual about covid its not special. It works very similarly to other viruses.

Happened to us last December. Kids all had it. DH and I did not. Youngest DD was all over me before we knew she was positive.

We tested all the kids and ourselves for antibodies when we can back from winter vacation in January. We app had antibodies, except my youngest, who sleeps in my bed with me. I’m not sure how it happened, but it did. (It wasn’t delta, this was before delta.)

We just had 6/8
We tested negative kids for antibodies with a blood test. Both had high counts.
One had symptoms back in March 2020 but never tested. We didn’t catch from him then.
The other son never had symptoms.
We figure they had it already.
But I do know families were they just get it months apart.

Happened to us too.
I'm assuming that DD was the on who brought it home originally. I waited a month and tested her for antibodies and she had, even though she never had a positive covid test when all the rest of us did.
