I teach 1st gr. at a "community" day school.
The topic of tzitzus has now come up, as to why not girls too?

I am lubav. most of the families do not attend a shul but iuf they wold go: conservative or reform only.

I was just wanting to know opinon, halachic and not, What do you think is the proper responce. either way!

does it matter?

what than is a special mitzvah girls can do?
any imput would be helpful!

I think you are a bit 'funcused' Chavamom, the topic is TZITUS not TZNIUS.

What starts with 'TZ', ends with 'S' and U is either in or it in the middle?

I would try to glorify the special mitzvos pertaining to girls. For example (u might be able to make a trip out of it to a local plaster store) have them decorate their own candlesticks = bentching licht!

Well, the reason girls don't wear tzitzis is because it's a time-related positive mitzva (same as tefillin). Girls don't keep these mitzvos- they are specially for men - but they have their own special mitzvos. You might be able to get away with this with 1st graders.

have them make the bracha "sheasani kirtzono"
I remember in preschool, doing this. the boys and girls each had their own bracha.

a lot of teachers put in a special song for tznius at the same time the boys make a bracha on thier tzitzis. Maybe make up a little song for the girls.
