My son come home at 8:00 asking for dinner.
They serve dinner at yeshiva but he claims he wants to eat at home.
Would you give him? Tell him to eat like all the other boys?
Yes, it’s a hassle at that hour, but if it’s the norm......

My son comes home special for dinner and then goes back. So yes, he eats at home.

My mom has 3 boys that eat dinner in yeshiva then come home at 9 and eat a full dinner. As do my friends that have boys in yeshiva. It's normal, they're hungry. Save him a portion and you can have him warm it up when he comes home.

My 11 year old eats dinner and like 4 snacks and I assume it’s going to get worse. I’d make sure to save him a portion of whatever you make for dinner.

He does eat dinner at home. But he’s also home by 5PM, maybe 6.

I would for sure make enough for him and save him some. Boys that age are hungry all the time. Plus you can't compare yeshiva food to homemade food. If it makes him happy and feel loved, and you are cooking dinner anyway, than why not?

Yes he does eat at home. He walks home , eats supper, and then I drive him back for mishmar. He doesn't eat supper at all in yeshiva.

When my son was that age he would come home at 9:30 and eat all the leftovers from supper, even though he ate in yeshiva 3 hours earlier. It's normal. I would save the leftovers for him and if there weren't any left, he would rummage around until he found something to eat. He doesn't need a fresh supper at that hour - just something to fill him up, and I would rather really food than cookies and chips.

Now he only comes home once a month and I when I throw out leftovers that no one wanted to eat, I miss my adorable human garbage can... Smile

My son gets home after 8 and eats as well. Cereal mostly. If your son wants real food I’d save some
