16 y o DD learning how to play piano (NOT KEYBOARD) I cant afford an actual baby or grand piano now and all we have at home is one of those Yamaha 60ish keyboards which she cant practice on. What could I get her for under $1000 (preferably under 500) that she could play on and practice on.

Try looking for a second hand piano. Be aware that on top of the actual cost of the piano, you will need to pay a piano mover. I don't know what the costs are in Brooklyn, but if similar to Lakewood, expect around $350-$400.
However, I do think $1000 is a realistic ballpark for a standard piano, which should suit your DD's needs. That's what I have in my living room, and it works for me and my girls.
