The Trader Joe's shopping bag has X-mas design on it. It's still summer here. It's a little weird.

Tim Burton got the inspiration for The nightmare before Chrismas when he saw Chrismas stuff in the window with Halloween stuff as they were changing the window dressing and that was prob in about 89/90. (Considering it took 3 years to film, preproduction time and it came out in 93)

This is nothing new or surprising

Maybe with all the shortages or whatever, they were afraid they wouldn't have it on time or maybe they know something about the future economy that we don't. Or maybe they wanted to get their customers in a "holiday:" mood so they would buy more.

Within a few years, it will probably be standard to start in January.

And people freeze them or do they start eating them now? One of the offerings at the Stop and Shop near one of my kids, before Succos, was hamantashen. Somehow nobody in the family was in the mood for it yet.

A lot of stuff is super cheap in January so people buy the leftover X-mas themed products to save for the next year. That really takes planning to stock up on gift wrap, cards, decorations, etc, eleven months in advance. Same with Halloween.

This. It may be the one year when "Xmas creep' is justified.

Are you sure they weren't from last Purim?

Yes, the chagim.are fading into a distant memory, and even though today feels like midsummer the shops are full of sufganiot. If we can do it, why shouldn't anyone else?

No one wastes a hot fresh sufganiot by freezing it. If it's good, it needs to be eaten at once. If it isn't, don't buy it in the first place.

Most stores think that if its a Jewish holiday, Jews want matzo and matzo balls. Apparently the more progressive ones have added hamentashen to the mix.

My brother, who has never kept kosher, but doesn't eat bread or bread-products on Pesach, was once told by his college cafeteria that they were out of matzo, but could give him a bagel instead.

I don't let it bother me.

As to sufganiot, Chanukah is early this year. But I'll take a good one any day.
