Since our fridge and freezer are pretty narrow, we feel that we really need a second one in the basement. However, we have narrow doorways, and it may be difficult to get them downstairs. We have a max of 27 inches.

Should we get a fridge and freezer separately? Any recommendations for ones that still have decent storage space, but aren't so narrow as to make it impossible to store anything large? We'd prefer economical, so no stainless steel.

I got this mini freezer 3 years ago. I love it. I got it in Walmart for $160

We're happy with this 13-cubic foot Frigidaire freezer that we keep in our basement: https://www.frigidaire.com/Kit.....F2VW/

It's 26" deep so should be OK with your doorway constraints.
