Hi
I do not put my kids shirts and pants in the dryer. I only hang to dry. Why are there clothing shrinking? Specifically their polo shirts? I never wash the kids clothing in hot or warm water only cold setting. Could it be the washing machine is shrinking their clothing? Is there a specific setting to wash or not wash kids clothing? I’m so frustrated because their new polo shirts are already short on them (I wish it was because they grew but that’s not the case..)

No. I wash on regular cold cycle (I think it says cotton not permanent press)

Does it say on the label to pre wash or that it might shrink? Some cottons shrink in cold water as well.

Is it one brand/one type of clothing/material type? Or all clothes?
What type of water does your city/town/township have?

Unless clothes are labeled preshrunk, they’re going to shrink. Tighter knits and weaves shrink less. Higher cotton content shrinks more.
BTW your kids are presumably growing, too.

So this cycle will usually shrink clothing. I’ve never had an issue when using delicate. Only once a specific dress shrunk but all kids wardrobes were fine. Use delicate for shirts and pants from now on

Thanks everyone for your advice
