Isn't ahaliva an alternate name for moshiach?

No, it's an analogy from Sefer Yechezkel chapter 23.

Bshaar tova OP!

I see someone mentioned the name Tzofia - צופיה
but I just want to elaborate on it a bit for you in connection to EY, as I find it a really pretty name with lots of meanings and connections.

The translation is watching, looking towards the future. Towards Yerushaleyim and the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdosh.

Har Hatzofim is named so as it looks towards Yerushaliyim. Look into the name of the mountain and its history and meaning. It is the same shoresh.

Tzofia is also mentioned in Hatikva and Eishes chayil.

It is the same gematria as Hashems name Ha mokom.

It has a mesora of being a name.

Yes, Rebbetzin Carlebach

That being said I don't think it's a common chareidi girls name.

While it's not a common chareidi name, (I don't think it's a common name in an my circles), it's a perfectly acceptable name. I know some chassidish bas-tzions. It's a name is some rebbish families.

I know many girls named Bat-zion.
As others have said, Aliza and Geula are old lady names in Israel.

Just reiterating that I don't care at all what goes or doesn't go in Israel, and am open to all suggestions.

I really appreciate all the suggestions here!! Particularly Bat-tzion, Sophia, Chemda, Shalva, and Aliza.
(Shout out to the very cute suggestion of Batsheva! I'm a seventh daughter and that's my name!! Very cute shmittah connection!)

Shulamit is a word from shir hashirim that describes benai yisrael, specifically benai yisrael's faithfulness to Hashem.

Shlomit is the lady in mitzrayim who conceived a child with an Egyptian who (essentially) raped her by sleeping with her when she thought it was her husband. She is faulted for greeting him in an excessively outgoing and warm manner.

Love the first name, but don't see how it connects to yerushalayim/e"y?

Yerushalayim and Shulamit both have "shalom" as their root.

So funny. Around our parts, there are dozens of little Alizas working around.

Here's a vote for Ariella--- Ariel is another name for Yerushalayim.

Don't know if you are open to this, but "Tzion" is actually always feminine in Tanach (and in Chazal, and in Piyutim "Tzion, haloh tishali" etc.) thus in Israel today it is given to Girls (I know several girls named Tzion).

I also think Bat-Tzion, Moriah and Ariella are all really beautiful and clearly connected to Yerushalayim.

I have a friend named Roni Bat-tzion after the pasuk in Tzfania perek 3, pasuk 14.
