If it makes you feel better, Bas Tzion is incredibly hard to say for a lot of people

My husband and I both like the name RaCHEL, but all in the community would pronounce it ROCHel, which we both can’t stand.

Wanted a Todros for years, but it's not exactly common.

I also tend to get attached to names when I hear something special about their meaning or history.
Shulamis
Alexander

And a long list of special people I would in theory name after but I doubt I'm destined to have quintuplets six times in a row.

Love Hodaya but it gets shortened to Ho, which in my circle doesn’t work for me.

For some reason I love the name avtalyon! I can't use many of the names I like cuz hubby likes very traditional names and I like more unique names- we end up compromising Wink

Bruriah, because of who she was, but I've never heard it in my circles.

Alexander is cute, but I wouldn't name a child of mine for the banal reason that it isn't a family name and we would need to run out of "important" family names first before I could do that, and I doubt I'll get to that number.

I live in a community where most everyone goes by rochel, we named our daughter raCHEL, that's how it is pronounced in the torah. so far it has stuck..

Avishai is my #1 fave
Hillel
Nesanel
Akiva
Gadi

Avigail
Basya
Ayala
Orlee
Dina

But community norms has it that you name after relatives or if there’s a reason then it can also be after a rebbe ( usually from your Chassidus)
