Does anyone know if this song was ever composed in English?

I’m not looking for a translation, but rather an English version of it.

TIA

Do you mean the song about the leaf who wants to be free of the tree and once it’s free it dies, teaching us that Torah is the eitz chaim?

Yes. I just copied it and downloaded it to place in the left-hand column side by side with the Hebrew. By "not a translation", do you mean a singable version, matching the rhythm and rhyme scheme? Because I can do that if you'd like. I've done it with dozens of other songs. But first I would have to take some time, on a day when I have a few hours free, to sit down at my computer, turn on my speakers, and listen to the Yiddish and Hebrew to get the "feel" of the song. I don't know it at all yet because your post is the first I have heard about this song. But give me a few days and I'll see what I can do.

I have made an English version of this song to the tune of “a dream a vision” by MBD. It’s not professional but I like it 😊 Happy to share it, please pm me Smile
