hi ladies
my husband has a few days off and we were thinking of visiting Baltimore. We have a 3 year old and 1 year old boy, and would likely be there thursday-monday AM. I would love some tips regarding which areas to look for rentals, and what attractions to consider. We are modern orthodox machmir/modern yeshivish, and would want to be close to a shul with an active weekday minyan and kosher supermarket/restaurants. If you can share the covid regulations, that would be great too.
thank you so much!

For shuls, your dh would probably like suburban Orthodox or Shaarei Zion.
Do you have a place to stay for Shabbos? I can't think of any hotels within the Eruv, which is where the shuls are. Maybe an Airbnb?
For food:
2 supermarkets, 7 mile market and Market maven (both have take out and sushi)
For restaurants:
Milk & honey bistro
Croustille Cafe (I recommend to everyone! For breakfast or small lunch. Yum food, great ambiance)
Cococcinos
Chef Dan's Cafe at the J (at the park heights JCC. Need to wear mask in JCC, but can take off for Cafe) (really good food!!)
David Chu's (Chinese) (a little fancier, really good food, good prices)
Pizza shops and such:
Mama Leah's pizza
Goldbergs bagels
Tovs pizza (never been here)
Taam Thai (or here)
Entertainment:
(Harbor area) Port Discovery, National Aquarium (they are right next to each other) would be fun for the kids
Maryland zoo or whatever it's official name is
Baughers you pick orchard (not sure what's in season) they also have a free petting zoo

There aren't really hotels in the frum community. I have no clue if there are any Airbnb. Baltimore is spread out, but everywhere is just a short drive for supermarkets or ready made food.
In terms of activities unique to baltimore. If it's nice out the inner harbor is fun. They have boats docked which are fun to look at. There are the classic museums : science center, aquarium, port discovery which is a kid's hands on museum, zoo.
There are nice parks and trails you can do with a stroller--depending on the time of year.
Then there is non-unique to baltimore activities like trampoline places or indoor playgrounds like hyperkids.
We are also about an hour drive to DC which has tons to do too.
Baltimore is a warm/accepting community. Even if you land up in a shul that is not specifically Modern Orthodox, you'll be welcomed.

As others said there are no hotels in the eruv. And some of the hotels nearby you would NOT want to stay at.
Out of curiosity- where do you live and why Baltimore?
If you know anyone here the best bet would be to see if they can find a family to host you for those days (either for free or for pay).

Oh and btw as far as COVID goes- part of the orthodox community is located in Baltimore city and part of it in Baltimore County. In the city masks are officially required indoors, in the county they are not.

Unless you have a place to stay for Shabbos, a Baltimore vacation is best for during the week. There are nicer, decently priced hotels prob a 15-20 minute drive from the shuls, if you want to drive in for daily minyanim. Actually the Pikesville Hilton is a very short drive, more like 5-10 minutes from shuls. It may be walkable to go to Yeshiva Lane on Shabbos but I don't know if the yeshiva is ok with random people dropping in to daven due to covid. They had a pretty serious outbreak last year after a visitor came for RH & they may still be extra cautious these days. Maybe someone else knows more and can chime in.

Park Heights is the city.
Anything downtown (Inner Harbor, Port Discovery, aquarium, zoo etc ) is also city.
Greenspring / Pikesville is county.
Most attractions are in the city.
