I was just looking at our numbers and was happy to see that it was very high so far! How much have you given this year, including maaser, other tzedakah, and chinese auction type events?

Edit: Oops, put the first option as the poll title by mistake!!!

I give maaser - so a tenth of my income. No need for this to become another "how much do you earn" thread.

Ma’aser minimum. So it’s at least 10th of our salary this year plus.

Don’t you have to give a 10th of your income?

I think OP is just happy to have given so much tzedakah. I don't have that much maaser money to give, but when I give tzedakah I feel so expansive and on the top of the world. Giving makes me so happy.

Tizku Lmitzvos OP
content without context is just noise
if someone has only $5 to give and gives a $1
they have made more of a sacrifice than the one
who has $5 million and game $50000

Did you give it besimcha?
Did you give it secretly?
Did you give to family first?
There are so many facets to giving tzedaka

I'm very happy for you op. That must feel great! But why does your happiness mean you have to know how much others are giving? I'm confused...

I'm really sorry for everyone who was hurt.
I didn't want to hurt anyone.
It just felt so good to realize how much tzedakah we were able to give, and it's not really something you can share in person, and so I thought I would share it with "friends" here in a place we could also share anonymously.
It was such a special feeling because ten years ago our entire yearly income was less than what we were able to give this year to tzedakah.
Again I'm really sorry, sometimes when I post things I don't realize who will be upset or hurt by them, and only when I get angry responses I realize but then I'm not sure what's worse to delete the post or just let the thread die.

I have no idea. And good for you for being happy to give a lot of tzedaka. That’s a good thing to be happy about.

Maaser and tzedaka are two separate obligations.

Can you explain please? I just thought it was two different vocabulary words for the same thing.
