Just playing devil's advocate here. I can't wrap my head around not calling a person anything. If not a name, at least a title. Ma'am and Sir if nothing else. |
The could have just referred to her as aishes Avraham. The Torah specifically makes mention of the women's names. Chava, Sarah, Rivka, Rochel Leah, Tziporah, etc. The Torah doesn't use any titles such as Aishes xyz or Bas abc, when referring to any of them. Even the servants Bilha and Zilpa were referred to by their names. We analyze and interpret word for word from the Torah, why don't we give these naming words their fair share? The fact that the Torah calls women by their names is very meaningful and we need to apply that to our lives, just like we apply all other concepts from the Torah. We aren't better or smarter than the Torah.
