Ever since birth my dd has been congested coughing droopy eyes, difficulty breathing... her lungs r always clear so it's an ENT problem. Went to an ent last yr and after trying many things we came to the conclusion that she needs her adenoids removed. She had surgery last spring and over the summer was fine. As soon as it started getting cold everything came back. I took her off dairy but it's not helping. Anyone dealt with this can give me pointers where to go from here? Please

She needs a comprehensive allergy test. The problem may be with wheat, not dairy, or it could be mold or pollen. Remember that the problem doesn't have to be an outright allergy. Even an intolerance can cause major issues.

A sinus CT can show if there are any structural abnormalities. If so, there is an easy outpatient surgery that is done under general anesthetic. She'll be home the same day. Recovery feels worse before it feels better, but it lasts a lifetime.

Oh gosh, we were in a similar situation. Removed the adenoids but still had all the symptoms.

I highly recommend going for allergy testing...

Turns out the was a dust mite allergy.

We put air purifiers in all bedrooms, encased the mattresses and pillows, and started allergy shots.

What a world of difference! DS was able to get off most of his asthma meds (and he has a congenital lung issue) and is no longer sniffling/coughing year round.

Allergies. But sometimes the child will still be congested and have dark circles around the eyes.

Might be allergies.
Or fluid in her ears and may need tubes in her ears and her tonsils removed.

Thanks for all the responses. Can it be allergies even if she's only sick once the weather turns chilly? She's fine all summer

If she's only sick when it's chilly, she might need her tonsils removed or tubes in her ears. Maybe take her back to an ENT for a check-up.

We were by an ent. She didn't need her tonsils removed or tubes...
