ISO playgroup until 4:30, does this even exist in monsey??

I’m looking for an English speaking playgroup with hours until 4:30 for a 2.5 year old, for next year. In the Monsey/ Wesley / Pomona area. Cannot do Airmont or Chestnut Ridge. Does this even exist?? Please help!!

Miriam is phenomonal!
A lot of people don't hold down full time jobs in Monsey. Those that do generally hire full time help or a driver to pick up their kids and bring them back to the help etc. its not easy.

they either work part time, or they hire a lady in their house full time (eventually someone has to be home for kindergarten kids, pre1A kids off bus, etc) or they have flexible hours so they can come home early and make up the hours at night - that’s what I do

I have several neighbors that work full time. They have a babysitter in their house or someone that comes the timing that the kids come home from school. 9-4:30 is really a long time for a toddler to be out of the house.

It’s nearly impossible to find a driver. I tried several times, I never had any luck. I only need until 4:15 two times a week, I really need a playgroup that is just a bit flexible.

Alternatively you can find a playgroup with a teacher or assistant who wouldn't mind taking your kid home with them twice a week. You offer to pay them separately and pick up your kid from there.

Halberstam fills up quick for this reason. She has ages babysitting- 3 in different classes.

There’s also Schwed that’s 8-5 and very flexible.

You need to be asking around more… also, these all fill up reallly quickly so don’t sleep on it.

Ther is an excellent playgroup on the dead end off melnick dr, morah suri wechselbaum. I know that she has transportation Nad late hours. Sorry I don't have her number.

OP welcome to the curse of the working Monsey woman 😈😈😈

There is no good take care around here. The options are forgo your decent job, get a nanny in your house, or scrounge around every few months to find someone to do pickup and to babysit for a few hours in the afternoon.

I used to send my daughter to a babysitter after playgroup. I used the transportation provided by the playgroup and they dropped her off at the babysitter until I was able to pick her up at 4:30.
