I really want to get a real Megillah for my dh but I have no idea where to start. Do I go to a sofer to get one written and if so how do I find a trusted one or can I buy an already written one somewhere?

You can buy a ready-made one from any good Judaica store. It's a pretty common thing to buy. Are you aware they run upwards of $1250 new?

From what I heard, it is best to buy them in Israel since they have best price and quality.

I bought for my dh.
Asked my rav to look at a ksav to make sure was nice.
There are diff styles like line count so important to know what he’d want.
It’s a beautiful gift.
