How do you choose linen? Thread count? Blanket cover or none? (Aren't they hard to put back on?)
Does anyone use cotton sheets? Are they healthier than synthetics? Any general guidelines and specific product recommendations? I get overwhelmed and end up with nothing.

Cotton wrinkles. I would get a blend.
Blanket cover is a preference.

100 percent cotton is best for sleeping. Minimally 200 thread count, preferable higher

This, as a general rule. Though some do wrinkle so it can be hard to shop online sometimes.
There is one brand that has a high thread count and is not fully cotton that I have had success with.
What are you looking for specifically?

I am looking for a set that is breathable and healthier for skin . Soft . I would love a bed and bag set . But am open to ordering sheets separate and finding a coordinating blanket. I don’t think blanket covers are have ever worked for me.

Definitely cotton! Who wants to sleep in polyester?
300-500 thread count
Duvet cover is a nicer look

I am very happy with my linen from Brooklinen. Super soft and washes well.

It's for a twin bed. I would prefer economical price range. Possibly a set --like a bed in a bag that has sheets, pillowcases, and comforter--but I haven't seen sets with cotton sheets in the major chains. I don't know what lower realistic price range would be.
TIA
