I am looking for someone to play music at my son's bar mitzvah. It's a small event, chassidishe crowd. I'm looking for someone starting out, can be a bachur, as long as he's good. Someone taking $300 or less.

Do you mean $300 an hour? Because $300 for the entire event seems very low. But you can try this musician and ask for a referral if he doesnt fit your budget or isnt available-

Yossi Waldman- he is excellent and charged 300 for a bar mitzvah a few years ago, maybe still does?
Lost his number, but he lives in Flatbush, learns in Chaim Berlin, if that helps.
