Does anyone know a stunning song about a boy on the shore waving to the captain of a ship and a bystander asks him why, surely the ship is too far away. And the child replies
“I know that he will see,
the captain will wave across the sea,
he’s my father and he’ll be looking out for me.
And although the winds aren’t mild
And the waves are lashing and wild
He’s a father looking out for his only child”
Or something like that!
It’s a moshol for Hashem always looking out for us
Heard it years ago and I’d love to find it again!

And the chorus is in yiddish, “Tateh, Tateh ich vart azoi lang kum tzirick tzu Mur, Tateh, Tateh ich bet azoi shtark fun dir”?
Haven’t heard that in years, beautiful song.
