They’re all keeping the weight off and had no complications.
Two other family members that used a different doctor keep on having issues.
Yes. There’s lots of overweight folks in our family!
Good luck! |
How many years is the longest since surgery?
Looks like people start regaining after 5 years.

do you have loads of extra skin after losing weight? is there something to do for that? |
If you Exer size a lot during Wright loss and don’t lose wait super quickly you can avoid the excess hanging skin

That's not true. Skin elasticity is genetic. Everyone has a threshold of how many times their skin can stretch out before it stops retracting back. Also, if you had a good surgeon and follow the bariatric plan, you can't help but lose weight super quickly.

I'm 7.5 years out. My first pregnancy began 11 months post op, and my second at 3-4 years post op.

I posted earlier recommending the same surgeon. Everyone I know who has used him, including myself, has maintained the weight loss for over 5 years.

I did have a lot of hypoglycemic episodes with the first pregnancy but bh my pregnancies were otherwise easy as with before surgery. By my second, I knew how to better change my diet so the hypoglycemia wasn't as frequent.
I didn't gain much with either pregnancy. I was at or below my prepregnancy weight as soon as I gave birth. I nursed after both pregnancies. I lost too much weight and became malnourished after nursing for 6 months so I had to stop after that with the first post surgery pregnancy. I purposely put on ten pounds. You could see my ribs and pelvis jutting out, I was underweight.
After my second post surgery pregnancy, I added more calories to avoid the malnourishment I experienced nursing the previous time. I nursed for over 3 years. Near the end of nursing, I gained about 8 pounds because I no longer needed the extra calories. But I was still at a healthy BMI so it didn't really matter. I just noted that I should work on cutting out any of the extras I had added while nursing. It's been 2 months since I stopped nursing my youngest and I haven't weighed myself in as much time, but my work clothes all fit the same from precovid and I rocked a fitted gown from 5 years ago this week.
