I’m paid well but 40 k annually for 22 hours a week. You’re paid really nicely! I was just recently in the job market and didn’t find any such well paying jobs! |
Like OP, I'm a valued employee for more than 7 years. I was actually my boss's first worker when he initially started his business, and he trusts me with everything. You don't just "find" such well paying jobs. I started with a pretty meager salary, and slowly built my way up.

As The only way you can get a lot more is if you are working there for a while and build yourself up and prove your worth. You can't find a job that's that much for starting salary. |
I’ve been working for ten years
One job maxed out at $25/hour.
The next maxed out at $30/hour.
This one started at $35/hour I hope it goes up.

I started my current job at $25/hour. I only work about 16 hours a week so my annual salary isn’t very high (especially since I don’t get paid vacation yet). Is that considered high hourly?

With no prior experience? From what I understand, it's the high end of starting salary.

No. Close to ten years of experience in similar kinds of positions (secretly/virtual assistant/executive assistant). The work I do now is a bit more industry focused (insurance) than some of the others were. I didn’t have prior experience in this industry.
Also I work exclusively from home.
Glad to hear it’s on the higher end.

If you are bringing with yourself years of experience that bring value to your current job, then I would think you can definitely ask for more if you are good at what you do.
Speak to ppl in the industry that can give you a feel of what's going on now
Also, I don't know how work from home plays into the picture

For people that work from home how do you socialise with people during the day?

My question also is, what is the benefit to working from home? What do you gain? Other than not having to drive to work?

I don't 😁
I also don't feel the need to, it's obviously different for people who need it

amother [ OP ] wrote: | Thanks. I'm trying to figure out how hourly translates into a number for salary? Are you able to help me with that please?
And also, when was the last time you reevaluated your salary with your employer? |
I get paid $650 every week, regardless of how many hours I actually worked. That's how it translates into a number for salary.
My hours are approximately 10-2 Monday through Thursday. Some days I get in a couple of minutes earlier. Any time my kids are off of school, including performances, appointments, vacation etc. - I don't come in. I check in on my emails a couple of times and respond to anything urgent, and then catch up at night. Those days I work an average of 1 to 2 hours tops. I also have a weekly therapy appointment with one child in the morning, which means I only work 2 hours on that day. I do check my emails at night and deal with anything time sensitive - this can take from 10 minutes anywhere to 45 minutes (rarely).
I'm only working at this job for 3 years, not 7. I imagine I'll be making more by the time we reach 7. I recently asked for a raise from $525 per week which is what I had been getting and received it no questions asked.
Feel free to ask if you have further questions

I started working from home when I moved to ey as a newlywed and once I got used to it and was in the practice of keeping my babies home with me I didn’t want to change even after moving back to the states.
So I have a baby home with me, usually till the 18 month or so range. It’s harder in th states where I do all my work during the day vs in ey when I worked more hours at night cuz that’s when business hours were.
Don’t have to get dressed:) for me that beats not having a social life from work.

How did you get 32k?
I am coming up with 25k
$32 X 15 X 52 = $24,960
hourly rate x hours per week x weeks per year = yearly salary

She is saying $32 per hour yields a $32,000 annual salary.
I am saying $32/ hour yields a $25,000 annual salary. How is it the same thing? If 32 and 25 are the same thing, I'll take $32,000
Both assume a 15 hour work-week.

Lol I did have to read it twice also don’t feel bad.
It would be nice if the math worked like that to calculate salaries 😂
