Middle age ladies too? These styles look horrible on me. I'm not a size 2.

No offense but I recently went to a wedding and no one was wearing anything remotely resembling any of these dresses.

Have a wedding to go to in 3 weeks.
These dresses are not going to happen.
Many if you are 23 and a size 2, but on a 45 year old woman with a regular normal body, they are just going to look dumpy.

Wear what suits you and what you you wore pre Corona. You won't be the only one. Current styles aren't flattering to a lot of people.

This really depends on age and community. What folks are wearing in Lakewood is not what folks are wearing in Israel

Middle-aged people in my large OOT community are ignoring all the current styles and wearing stuff they already have that looks nice. Hopefully the current trends will go out soon.

I literally don't know anyone any age that would wear these to a wedding. They look like shabbos dresses and you can get them at Zara for a fraction of the price. No loose flow at weddings. Maybe something with tiers and ruffles as a nod to current style but only if very dressy and flattering. Otherwise, whatever you have in your closet for wedding wear will work.

I personally don't care for the style of dresses shown in the links.
My pre-covid simcha-wear didn't get much mileage these past 2 years, so I'm happy to wear it again.

The young crowd is wearing these dresses.
I found similar style dresses for my daughter online for under $100.
OP, if you have a Junees nearby you can try there. They may have something that works for you.

I was just at a wedding a few days ago. The girls in their 20’s were definitely wearing those dresses.
Older women (40+) stick with traditional black- either a dress or black skirt with top. Usually black tights with heels. A necklace, earrings, fresh shaitel…

I am in my 50s and pear shaped, a little overweight and live OOT. In the summer I wore a flowy dress to weddings. Now my middle aged friends and I are wearing dressy separates. Look up Alex Evenings brand. Or check a department store like Macys.

Many people especially the young ones are wearing pleated midi skirts with a nice blouse or sweater.

I had the same reaction. (guess what, not everyone in lakewood spends like this.)
I have a dress that is different but reminds me of the first one (it's a crinkly dark floral fabric). I bought it in a local store at their 70% sale. Under $50. I've been wearing it to weddings. Got lots of compliments.

All the styles look SHABBOSdik not for wedding unless you are a little teenager
NOr a pleated skirt with top, screams SHABBOS
A little black dress is always classic- plain and elegant- in an elegant material

Unless your close family, it’s normal to wear shabbosdik clothes to a wedding. I don’t have separate Shabbos and Simcha wardrobes.. just some of my more elegant Shabbos gets work to Simcha’s.
