My daughter has a friend Leanne, pronounced lee-ON. We also know someone named Leanne, pronounced lee-ANNE.
I think my favorite name from all the names posted on this thread is Annaelle.

The spelling is a stretch, not the name.

I think Maayanne would be constantly misspelled as Maryanne.

I love it!
Is it used by religious Jews for its Aramaic meaning, or is it basically used by masorati Jews for its French meaning?
Also, does anyone know if it's rabbi approved for girls? Because I know it's used for both genders though more commonly for girls. I've been told to not use boys names as girls names (Ohr, etc). Not sure if this would be considered a proper girls name.
Would people who would not give a name like Emily, give Orian?
