I don't understand why you would want a tablecloth for a dining table that is used during the week.
For me a table cloth is higher upkeep than placemats.
Also most dining tables are beautiful and the only reason one uses a table cloth is to protect the surface.
I have an assortment of placemats. I have clear ones that I keep on the table all the time because the top of my table is beautiful wood which should be seen. I have elegant placemats and more informal placemats. I tend to like placemats that can be wiped rather than cloth ones that need to be washed but I have some cloth place mats which coordinate with some napkins that I bought as a set.
There are placemats to suit every taste and room style.

Buy a nice piece of fabric by the foot and add trimming of your choice around the edges and you’ll have your dream tablecloth...
