Ice cream and friends
Talking of weddings and trends
A laugh here, a smirk there
Oops, is that coke in your hair?

Goodnight, goodbye
Come to my wedding, please try
Thanks for tonight, for the memory
For all the tips shared so cleverly

Tomorrow comes
An echo of yesterday’s crumbs
One smile too much, too close
It lit the wrong spark, I suppose

Falling petals, crushed dreams
Life isn’t as it always seems
A future that appeared so bright
Hurtles back in speed, to spite

Empty promises, now homeless
Trust no one, stay hopeless
Acres of land and one horse
Supposedly heals, of course

A year since that ice cream
Once actual reality now a dream
A year since my innocence
Of wishful thinking, magnificence

Ice cream and friends
It’s where it all ends
Sitting there so blissfully unaware
Come tomorrow, come the start of one long nightmare.
