Hi All,
First of all I want to thank you for your many prayers on my mother, Perel bat Chaya Gittel's behaf.
They did her first brain scan since the radiation treatments. While the brain cancer appears not to have shrunk, it is "ghosting". We asked what that meant and the doctor said it means the tumor is dying!!! Yahoo!!!
My mom took a scan (MRI?) or something of her body and they will let her know how the primary tumor (lung cancer) is doing next week. She is changing thorasic oncologists. She has been unhappy with hers for awhile, but since her forgot to schedule her for the scan today (she had it after her appointment with him) and therefore wasted her time seeing him today (this appointment was made a month ago) she decided to finally riase the issue with the hospital administration.
The brain cancer doctor sat her down and had a heart to heart with her and convinced her to start taking her pain pills. Thank God because right now what happens is she doesn't take the pain med. , then she is too tired/in pain to do anything so she sits around the house which depresses her, which makes her feel like she has nothing to live for. Which increases her depression, which makes her less likely to do anything, which...and the cycle continues.
I am going to again invite them up for Passover since it will be my daughter's eightth birthday as well my daughter being their only grandchild on spring break then. I doubt they will come, but I will try.
I am sooo relived and happy. Please continue to pray and say tehillim for Perel bat Chaya Gittel for a refuah shelima and the rest of klal Yisroel.
With tremendous gratitude to HaShem,
Star Havah

Three hours before lict I got a call from my parents. The scan my mother had last week shows a new spot on her brain and they are afraid that there has also been metastisis to the bones so next week she is going in for a bone scan.
So much for things are getting better.
Thanks for listening.
