My teen daughter and I would like to get away for one night and one day this week. We have hotel points so we can do a hotel but also need something to do within an hour of Lakewood. Is there anything interesting to do in Brooklyn these days, or North jersey (Passaic, etc)? Would rather avoid Manhattan due to high costs of parking etc...Any ideas?

American Dream mall, ice skating in many places, you could check if any snowtubing is open, Brooklyn Botanical Garden is starting a cool light show at night. Mt. Laurel has points hotels and indoor trampoline and water parks and nearby Cherry Hill has kosher restaurants.

I don't think she would go for the penitentiary....I like Philly a lot but not sure what to do there, I Feel like we did all the standard attractions....but def open to ideas! Brooklyn is exciting for me because I never have reason to go there, even though we are so close by.

Funny to think of Brooklyn as exotic, but you could go shopping on 13th Avenue, go to Pomegranate, go out to eat, ice skating in Prospect Park, the light show at night I mentioned above. There's also a VR place in Boro Park, and some paint your own pottery places.
