DD in sem is looking for Tums or their equivalent in Israel and is being told by her sem that Tums brand isn't kosher in Israel.
Any suggestions on what is available in its place, would be helpful.

Why would tums not be kosher in Israel? I never heard that and I live here...
If she needs an antacid she can get a prescription for famotidin

I just looked at our bottle of tums. While there is no actual hechsher on the bottle, I bought it from the dati pharmacist who owns his own pharmacy.

They sell kosher tums in the shefa pharmacy I believe.
Haven't needed them in a year or two by now so double check...

Tums are perfectly fine here. I have been buying them for 10+ years.
They sell them at every pharmacy.
You can also buy other brands like Rennie, also at any pharmacy.

If you look at the package it doesn't have any hashgacha. Could be to do with the facility in which they are made. Most people I know won't use them, or else import from America.

There's a shortage of tums now, most pharmacies are out of it. So it's a nonissue:)

I've had tums here where the Hebrew sticker on the back had no hechsher. But when I peeled it off, there was an English sticker underneath which had a hechsher.
