I’m also glad to see others still on it.
I’m looking forward to hear results tomorrow ! I don’t feel like I lost much, if anything.

The scale is just not budging for me!
I have to figure out what to do… maybe no more treats for me.

Thanks so much I actually read the book I ordered over Shabbos and it was very clear.
I’m just left with one question. How does a person get enough nutrients with extended fasting? How is it different than anorexia or other eating disorders who leave a person weak and dying? I’m asking about the long term fasts he recommends? Can’t imagine doing it. Most I’ll do is the daily short ones I am doing now.

Yes I’m super strict with fasting from 6pm to 10am.
The problem is I’m not following anything specific the rest of time. Just trying to be conscious but I’m probably not strict enough. I should find a program to stick to besides for doing IF but I think I’ll wait for next week, after chanuka.

You don’t need to do extended fasting.

I’m not planning to but still have that question. How isn’t it dangerous to do a fast of a week or longer like he recommends? I’m just confused how a person doesn’t get extremely weak because of missing nutrients?

He is NOT suggesting this for weightloss. He is suggesting it to sick people to rapidly get their physical issues under control.
The difference is he is telling people to be medically supervised. The people he is suggesting it to HAVE to be because they are on all manner of medicine for their serious issues that are affected by eating/not eating.
INTERMITTENT fasting and feasting in between is different because from the perspective of regular food supply and mechanisms our bodies evolved to deal with scarcity of food, the body works that way anyways. You think our ancestors always had food every day? No. They didn’t. Our bodies are inherently able to handle famine to a point. To a point.
I think you should read the obesity and diabetes codes. Please stop obsessing about extended fasts. If you read the book carefully, you’ll know he didn’t mean YOU.
Also remember missing nutrients? We are, the obese among us, full of fuel. Adipose tissue can keep one going for quite a long time. It’s how we are designed and why we fatten up when things are good and use that fat when they aren’t. The problem is WE ALWAYS HAVE ACCESS TO FOOD NOW . We don’t eat well and then go hungry, we just eat and eat and eat, all the time. Ya feel me?
