Thank you for your reply..
do you mind telling me where you got it?
I have two extreme options
1) high end frum jewerly store ring for 5-7.5K lab grown diamonds
2) etsy seller from india!! 500 bucks (for the same thing in maissonite)
I want a radiant center 2 carat diamond with trapezoids on the side
I was also thinking of a princess cut center with trillions on the side
I would take opinions on the diamond cuts also!!

is the moissonite as clear as the diamond?
backstory is I lost my real diamond ring so I've been wearing a CZ for 14 years....
when I see my CZ near someone else's real diamond, the difference is huge. it's not the sparkle factor, but with a diamond you see clearly "into" it, not sure if I'm making sense..the CZ sparkles very superficially.
so now I would want to invest in something much better than a CZ..

I lost my ring too, so got this one as an anniversary gift! I got one from India: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DazzleDreamss
The seller was so great to work with. the stone is definitely very clear, and you can message her to specify that you want a very clear stone. Just like diamonds, moissanites vary in clarity.

The moissanite that is sold these days is all lab grown so it's perfectly clear. The color varies from about g-L. K+ reads very yellow to me.
I got some great stuff working with a moissanite distributor that worked out of the NY diamond exchange. Purchased settings and smaller stones from one booth over. Obviously the quality of the setting also impacts how the stone looks.
But it's not a diamond. It refracts differently and anyone who knows diamonds can tell it's not one. It's just a different, beautiful sparkly stone.

thank you so much for your replies!
what does it mean it refracts differently? light plays on it differently?
I wonder if I'll notice or if it will bother me...I definitely want it to look geniune..

If you want it to look genuine I think a lab diamond is what you want. Moissonite sparkles more so it doesn't look exactly like diamond.

Yes, exactly:
https://www.brilliantearth.com.....mond.
Quote: | Moissanites exhibit a different kind of brilliance than diamonds do, as their faceting pattern is different. The fiery, rainbow flashes emitted by moissanites are beloved by some, but others feel that moissanite’s heightened brilliance can create a “disco ball” effect, especially in sunlight. The bigger the moissanite, the more likely it is that the difference will be noticeable. Moissanite has a refractive index from 2.65 – 2.69, which is higher than a natural diamond. |
Sound like it could be pretty, but it may look substantially different from a diamond if you get a large stone.

Only diamond looks like diamond, but diamond is overrated.

So maybe a nice cubic is more natural than a Moissanite?

thank you everyone for your replies...
superwify do you have jewerly with lab diamonds?
I'm definately thinking of going in that direction...
I'm thinking of a radiant center stone 2.0 carat
with half moons on the side .5 carat
in lab..
it will be very expensive (for me) about 5K...
I haven't gotten (real) jewerly in almost five years and this will be for my 15th wedding anniversary...
I'll probably try to give in some old gold jewerly to at least bump down the price a little bit...even if I can get it down to 4k it would be a big difference for me...
