I love Bentzion but she won't go for it because it's not in tanach and we're not chassidish...
We don't have any particular relatives to name after. I would love to choose a name related to galus and geula or to Yerushalayim / Bais hamikdash. Any ideas?

What does benzion have to do with chassidish?
Who is she you refer to?
What about Elyakim?

I was going to suggest Ariel. Also Dvir, Yigal, Menachem.

It was a name of a bobover rebbe.
Sorry she autocorrected from DH.
DH feels name should be either after a family member, gadol you personally feel very connected to, or from tanach. That type of thing.
Maybe I can convince him to do Bentzion but I doubt it.

Ariel is mentioned in Yeshaya chapter 29, if that helps.

Binyamin! It means "son of the right" which can be interpreted as referring to Eretz Yisrael/Yerushalayim. And the Bais Hamikdosh was in Binyamin's nachala.

Bentzi is a very common non-chassidish name in our non-chassidish community.

How about melech or elimelech? Related to the geulah in the way that Hashem is our King, and the whole world will finally realize He is our King.

Oh! Or how about meir? Because ירושלים אורו של עולם. Meir means light! And if I'm not mistaken, shraga does as well- can someone confirm?
Or shalom? The world will be filled with peace by geulah. Or Shlomo? Or simcha as we'll be filled with happiness?
