I’m a few days in to having COVID and I feel like I’m getting very slightly better each day. Is it possible to get worse suddenly or if I feel better it means I’m on the path to healing?

Hopefully on the path to healing. But take it easy even when you feel better. I didn't and then a few days after feeling better I got fever again.

It can which is why COVID remains a mystery in some ways because there is no easy correlation between how it will affect people. While co-morbidities are a factor there are cases in which young healthy people died or had severe cases.

Some people don't even feel that sick and don't realize that their oxygen levels are plummeting which is why it is recommended that people use a pulse oximeter to monitor their vitals even if they aren't feeling horribly ill.

I am familiar with very severe COVID patients and there is a phenomenon which some people call the dead cat bounce where the patient feels stronger for a day and then all of a sudden progresses to the intubation stage and dies.

In your case, you are probably on the path to healing but rest is very important to healing.
