Ki babayis Chan vatov
Neiros... Dolkim

always thought it was funny that Israeli kids would be singing about snow on the ground at Chanuka! (assuming song came from Israel). I sang it too and that was (ahem) over 40 yrs ago

Btw, my favorite preschool chanukah song is from when we lived in EY!! My kid came home with this song: (maybe I got it a little wrong.)

Lol hashana
Ani mechaka
Matai yavou kvar
Yemei hachanukah
Ki bamegirah shebaaron
Mechakeh lo hasevivon

Betishrei amarti lo
Zeh lo mat'im
Becheshvan lachashti
Od kama yamim
Higiya chodesh kislev
Amarti chanukah mitkarev

Bo eilai, bo eilai,
Sevivon chamud
Nistovevah beyachad
Netzei lerikud
Ani etz'ad kadimah
Atah le'achor
Nistovevah velo naatzor

I think the lines like zeh lo matim are so cute!!!

There is a whole English track for this song back from when I was a kid. I think it goes something like this Snow is falling gently, come home now with me ... Chanukah begins to night ... In the house it's warm and light with candles burning bright, sizzling latkes we'll soon eat and dreidel play tonight. Come now in the circle let's all dance the hora, while I tell of victory of Israel and the Torah ... I love Chanukah, I love snow and this is my absolute favorite song, though it seems like the Israel version is different and much longer.

It could be another song that originated in Eastern Europe, and was sung in Yiddish, and later got translated into Hebrew.

Snow in December can happen in Israel, though it's more likely to be later in the winter, so the concept isn't unheard of.
