I write almost no checks but the last time I ordered from the bank and they were free.
You can order from any third party as I have also done that when checks from banks were expensive. You just supply them with a copy of your check that you write VOID on and they send checks that you can use.
Really you don’t even need a check as all you need is the routing number and the account number. I have paid by check a few times over the phone.

How do you get free checks. I've always had to pay for the non personalized non fancy ones and they're not cheap.
