A private home is a completely diff story
Even if you did leave it unlocked, it’s weird that they would open the door to put it inside

Ours open the (coded) gate and set things inside, but that’s because they have the code on file as we prefer for stuff to be left in rather than out if we’re not home. If you didn’t give it to them, it seems strange.

My door needs a key. Old fashioned.
Im thinking the people I rent an apartment to are moving this week, and may be leaving the door open a lot lately, coming and going.

Do your tenants have a doorbell? They might be buzzing them in. Also they might just be leaving the door unlocked. I think it’s less of a mystery of someone else shares the house with you. Why don’t you just ask them if they’ve opened the door for packages or left it unlocked?

They just moved and are hardly ever here.
