Heard nice chanukah thought and figured I'll share. I hope I don't mess it up.

Generally, the world runs according to teva and one shouldn't be relying on a nes. The essence of Chanukah is a time of nissim. That is the teva of chanukah. It is appropriate to daven for a nes in the days of chanukah due to this.

Go ahead and daven for miracles to come true!

Nice!

I once heard a nice diuk in the words Haneiros halal.
It says, haneiros halalu kodesh heim, v'ein lanu reshus lehishtamesh bahem ela lirosam bilvad.

These candles are holy and we are not permitted to use them, only to look at them.
But you could read "ela lirosam bilvad" as, but only,, you should look at them! Since the neiros are Holy, you should gaze at them and let the kedusha of the neiros fill you.

I think this is a chasidish vort- (meaning not pshat-) but I always liked it. I learned that it's good to daven while gazing at the holy flames.

Thank you for this. Can I ask where you heard this? From whom? It is EXACTLY what I needed to hear right now….
