I would like to make latkes now in the betty crocker. I know it's not chanuka yet ; )
Do I use cooking spray? Or just directly on the surface?

Maybe parchment paper? I’m only guessing, I don’t really use mine much…

I'm not 100 percent sure but I beleive if you put cooking spray onto nonstick surfaces it ruins it.
Better off using real oil or parchment/silver foil.

I always spray mine, no problem.
I've never made latkes in it, but I've done pancakes which come out fine. So it should be ok.
I have heated up frozen latkes though which is quicker than using the oven and healthier than a frying pan.

I always use cooking spray when frying in the Betty Crocker so I’d say yes

I always do pancakes and latkes in the Betty crocker. no oil or spray. They come out nicer than in the frying pan! if you leave the cover open it will fluff up more. closed will cook it flat. Your choice.

only problem is that the whole point of latkes is to use oil and here were avoiding it....

You can put a parchment paper and then oil on the paper. I think that putting oil directly onto the surface ruins it. Of course, it's not gonna taste fried like in a regular frying pan, but it works ok as well.

I made latkes in the Betty crocker tonight. They were a real hit!
My dh said he liked it better than fried in oil.
I did spray oil on the surface. I never heard this could ruin the non stick surface. I also sprayed a but of oil on the latkas.

I did my cheese latkes today with cooking spray and they were delicious and so easy! Can’t believe how quiet it was and how clean everything stayed. You literally couldn’t tell anything was done. Even the Betty Crocker stayed clean. Such a huge difference from other years.
