Make a yummy dinner together.
Go on a walk or drive and look at all the menroahs.
Play a game you like.
Do an art activity or something creative.

Not sure where you are located, but you can go out and paint ceramics, mugs, plates. Its fun and you spend quality time together. If you dont want to cook, order out but eat in your home. This way you really get to focus on each other. ( Get a good bottle of bubbly also!)

Just wondering about this obsession with Chanuka "parties." What you describe sounds like "a nice evening with dh" maybe even a "date night." hardly a "party," which is defined as "a social gathering of invited guests, typically involving eating, drinking, and entertainment." Two people who share a household, even though they're eating, drinking and being entertained, do not a party make. Why call it something that it isn't? Just to be yiotze the "obligation" to have a Chanuka party"?

I get it
It’s kind of lonely
No kids or no kids around
Friends are busy with their own family
Some ask to join but it feels out of place
And all you hear around is about this party and that party

You invite your husband. Eat, drink and entertain each other. Which part of the definition doesn’t match?
I didn’t know the word “party” was so sacred.
Ps if you give each other a grab bag or gift, then you’re definitely yoitza all of the party terms.

The same reason that a bag of extra treats is called a Shabbos party. The term has a lot of colloquial uses.
